Flexicon Product Range
Mining & Mineral Processing
Engineered systems built for Africa’s hardest, dustiest, most abrasive materials.
Mining and mineral processing plants move some of the toughest bulk solids in industry — abrasive concentrates, hygroscopic chemicals and fine dusty powders. Flexicon Africa supplies the conveying, bagging, and bulk bag handling equipment that keeps these materials moving safely, cleanly, and without interruption.

Engineered for Demanding Materials
Mining and mineral processing present a wide range of material handling challenges. Flexicon equipment is designed to handle the diverse characteristics of bulk materials found throughout mineral processing plants:
| Characteristic | What It Means for Handling |
| Abrasive | Concentrates, sands, and ores wear through standard conveying components — equipment needs hardened or replaceable wear surfaces |
| Lumpy | Crushed and screened material with irregular particle size demands wide-tolerance intake and screening at the hopper |
| Fine Powders | Milled and calcined materials generate dust that must be contained for safety, compliance, and product loss prevention |
| Moist / Hygroscopic | Filter cake, dewatered concentrate, and hygroscopic chemicals cake and bridge in storage, resisting flow |
| Free-Flowing to Non-Free-Flowing | A single plant may need to handle everything from dry granular product to sticky, compacted filter cake |
The Product Range

Flexible Screw Conveyors
Enclosed, self-cleaning conveyors that move abrasive and dusty concentrates, ore fines, and chemical additives between process stages without the spillage and maintenance burden of open belt or bucket systems. Well suited to feeding ammonium nitrate, lime, urea, and other reagents into a process, or moving concentrate between dewatering and bagging.

Pneumatic Conveyors
Fully enclosed dilute- or dense-phase conveying for fine powders, calcined material, and dusty concentrates over longer distances or between floor levels — keeping product contained and the plant compliant with dust and environmental regulations.

Bulk Bag Fillers
Fill bulk bags (FIBCs) with concentrate, ore fines, or processed mineral product at rates suited to continuous plant operation. Available as TWIN-CENTERPOST™ fillers for sanitary or lower-capacity lines, SWING-DOWN® fillers for fast, safe floor-level bag connection, and REAR-POST fillers for sites needing pass-through conveyors or powered fill-head height adjustment.

Bulk Bag Dischargers
Safely lift, position, and empty incoming bulk bags of reagents, additives, or raw material into the process — with dust-tight bag spout connection and controlled discharge into downstream hoppers or conveyors.

Bulk Bag Conditioners
Purpose-built for mining reagents that solidify in storage or transit. Hydraulic rams press and rotate bulk bags of ammonium nitrate, urea, lime, and other hygroscopic chemicals from all sides, breaking up caked material so it flows freely into the process again.

Weigh Batching & Blending Systems
Automated systems that draw material from single or multiple sources, weigh batch it accurately, and deliver it to the next process step or packaging line — reducing manual handling and reagent waste across a plant.

Bag Dump & Container Handling Stations
Dust-contained manual and semi-automated stations for introducing bagged or drummed reagents, additives, and lab samples into the process without exposing operators to dust.

Engineered, Plant-Wide Systems
Where a single unit isn’t enough, Flexicon’s Project Engineering Division designs fully integrated systems — combining conveyors, bulk bag stations, weigh batching, and automation & controls into one coordinated flow from feed hopper to loaded pallet.
Why Mining Operations Choose Flexicon

Proven in the Field
Engineered for Africa’s Toughest Bulk Materials
South Africa’s mining and mineral processing sector doesn’t leave room for equipment that can’t keep up. Abrasive concentrates chew through standard conveying components. Fine, dust-prone powders demand containment without sacrificing throughput. And every hour of unplanned downtime carries a cost that ripples across the whole operation.
Flexicon Africa designs bulk material handling systems — conveying, bagging, and bulk bag equipment — built specifically for these conditions. Not adapted from general-purpose lines, but engineered from the ground up around the wear, weight, and safety demands of mining and beneficiation work.
As South African producers scale to meet rising global demand for critical minerals, the equipment moving that material matters as much as the equipment processing it. The case studies below show how Flexicon’s engineering has solved these exact challenges for mining operations worldwide — insight now available to Southern African producers, backed by local support.
